carrietheseawitch asked: I saw your post about Dinoland at Animal Kingdom and just wanted to clear something up! The dig site tent was only up temporarily when the park first opened in 1998 (although "temporary" at Disney usually means a few years) and was replaced long ago by the current theater. There were a few musicals in that theatre, including the popular Tarzan Rocks! before Finding Nemo: The Musical ever opened in the space between Dinoland and Asia. I believe Finding Nemo is only a few years old.

Hey thanks. I still miss the dinosaur skeletons in Dinoland, though, and no amount of theaters with unrelated topics, whether it be ape men or fish movies seems like a good replacement. It’s been so long since the early day of Dinoland, I forgot that excellent exhibit was intended to be temporary. I was part of the opening crew and really loved that part of the park, back when it had the Prehistoric Forest with its quiet paths through ancient plants. It is too much like a noisy amusement park now with, rather sadly, far less focus on dinosaurs.

Cool photo, by the way!
